What do you think is? poem: my first memory (of Librarians) by Nikki Goivanni "This is my first memory: a large room with heavy wooden tables who sat in a creaky A wooden floor line of green shades-bankers' lights through the center of Heavy oak chairs that were too low or maybe it was too short For me to sit and read So my first book was always big in the lobby of up to four stops a semi-circle on the left table presided over the card catalog law covered in the newspapers over what looked like a quilt rack Magazines face of the wall The smile of welcome from my library of anticipation in my heart all these books-another world waiting for my reach. "
